The Welsh National Poultry Weekend 2017

The Welsh National Poultry Show

18-19 November 2017

16 January 2017

Apart from the first couple of years, the Welsh National was held on the 1st weekend in December for 17 years and then for 11 years on the 3rd full weekend in November. The changes became necessary because of a clash with the Poultry Club's National. In the last 10 years though, the show has been held on the 2nd full weekend in January but snow and Avian Flu have forced the cancellation of the show twice during this period with at least another two of the shows affected when some long distance exhibitors failed to attend due to snow and ice in their areas.

The decision has been taken therefore, to move the show ['backwards'] to the 3rd full weekend in November, once more, for the next three years after which the situation will be reviewed.

The dates for the next 3 years will be:-

2017 - November 18th & 19th

2018 - November 17th & 18th

2019 - November 16th & 17th

It is with real disappointment that Alan Ralphs (Chairman) and I announce on behalf of Dyfed Poultry Society that the decision has been taken to cancel the Welsh National Weekend due to the Avian Flu situation. This includes the British Call Duck Club's 20th Club Show on Saturday, January 14th and the Welsh National itself on Sunday 15th. A sincere thank you to all who intended taking part - be it Judges, Exhibitors or Stewards.
