A Brief History
1973
It was at the instigation of Peter Williams from Meidrim, Carmarthenshire, that the Dyfed Poultry Society was formed at The Square & Compass in Carmarthen.

Emrys Williams becomes Chairman

The Show becomes the Welsh National
1978
The Poultry Club of Great Britain grants Regional Status to the Show
1981
Poultry shows are cancelled because of fowl pest
1983
Alan Davies takes on the role of Secretary
1986
The show moves to Pencader for the year
1987
Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society become patrons of Dyfed Poultry Society and a permanent home for the shows is established at the County Showground, Haverfordwest
The first Show at Haverfordwest receives a record 840 entries
1988
Ruby Williams becomes Chairman
1991
The Poultry Club of Great Britain upgrades the status of the show from Regional to Championship
1993
Eric Davies becomes Chairman
1994
The Show becomes a British Waterfowl Association Regional Show
Merryl Lloyd becomes Assistant Show Secretary
1995
Rev. Sion Alun becomes Chairman
21st Autumn Show Held
2001
The Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society's County Show is cancelled and no Summer Show is held because of Foot and Mouth
2003
Eirlys Davies takes over as Treasurer
Desmond Little passes away bequeathing part of his estate to Pembrokeshire Agricultural Society for the construction of a dedicated Poultry Building at the County Showground
